I participate in a variety of sports. I've been on a basketball team for five years
and play second base on my baseball team. But ice hockey is my true passion - a
passion that started when I began playing right wing 3 years ago.
Being introduced to Brad Erickson and learning about the ICE Program was the best
thing that could have happened to me. Being the recipient of the ICE scholarship
is an honor and sincerely appreciated. This scholarship has allowed me to enroll
at De La Salle Institute; it has also helped me continue to hone my skills by enabling
me to play in a youth league at McFetridge Sports Center.
The scholarship doesn't just pay for my education; it reminds me that my mom and
I are not the only ones concerned about my success. The ICE Program board members
really care about me as a person.

Receiving the ICE Scholarship has allowed me to go to Guerin College Prep High School.
Going to this school has helped me become a better person and is preparing me in
my education to follow my dreams of attending a major college and playing in the
USHL while getting a great education. I am very excited about my future and can’t
wait to help other children after college.

I am very grateful for the ICE Scholarship. It has given me the opportunity to play
hockey while attending Guerin College Prep High School. I graduated high school
in May 2011 with a great education and I am now attending Western Illinois University.
I am looking forward to my future and I am excited about helping to keep this program
going for other children who also deserve an opportunity to get a good education.
I have been receiving the ICE scholarship since my Freshman year of high school
and am now about to start my second year of college at Southern Illinois University.
Not only has receiving this scholarship given my family a sense of security, but
it has also allowed me to expand my knowledge by allowing me to go to a better school
where I could get a good education. Due to receiving the ICE scholarship I have
also learned to be more responsible in the sense that I keep my grades up and work
harder to make sure that I meet the standards required to maintain the scholarship.

Without the ICE Scholarship I would have had to go to my local public school and
I wouldn't have received as good of an education as the one I am receiving from
Nazareth Academy. Because of ICE my family and I have been able to meet some great
people that have been very generous and have helped us tremendously throughout the
years. My parents and I are eternally grateful for everything ICE has done for us
and for helping me continue my studies and move on to a better future.
Thanks to all the ICE board members, donors, and all others involved with the ICE
program for all that you do.
